Make it Roll - A portable, adjustable wheel set for moving pallets on rough terrain

We frequently have the need of moving pallets or heavy items on rather rough terrain because the yard surface is only gravel and grass. This surface makes it almost impossible to roll something on a pallet truck or with the engine crane.
The basic idea appeared to be working well when i moved my 1500lbs South Bend Lathe.
The major improvement is that everything is variable and broken or damaged parts can be easily replaced, it also makes it very portable and for larger loads, we can just add more axles.
This episode shows the making of a basic set, further improvements like length adjustment, mounting lugs and steering will come when needed and/or time allows.
At the end of this video we show how it's fitted to the pallet with the generator on it, total load was approx. 400kg (800lbs)

The wheels itself were a bit of a disappointment, it seems the rims are not exactly good for the tyre rating of 300lbs each and therefore will need some improvement as it appears they cannot take much side load

With those wheels, I never before pulled something sideways at full load, but after a closer look it's quite obvious that the material thickness of the hub is just not good enough.
A different wheel size is not really an option as i use those for other things as well, therefore this size my de-facto standard for things with wheels carrying small to medium loads. It also makes keeping spares pretty simple, one size fits all.
